I assume you mean the gradient in the shape of the circle? I just blended from one color to another but yes you can do multiple colors or a rainbow if you wanted. It's not really steps all though you could do that too if you did a shape blend between one colored shape and another and then changed the amount of steps but isn't how I built this I just used gradients and then adjusted the transparency and blend modes like setting them to "Multiply" so it meshed with the under lying color better.
